Coronavirus: Serving Underserved Children, Low Income Families
As part of our normal programs throughout the calendar year, Breakaway Outreach provides holistic ministry (including meals, nutrition supplementation, and hygiene) for children affected by economic insecurity in the communities we serve, through a network of partnerships across East Tennessee. As Coronavirus affects closures to schools and after school programs in our region, we aim to do all we can to make sure no kiddos go hungry or get neglected of wellness resources.
We’re also monitoring and responding to needs of households our KidVenturez and camp programs serve (a good number of which are elderly grandparents with custodial guardianship over the grandkids, and shouldn’t be going out into public places right now). The support of our faithful partners is helping us to serve these households in a time of crisis.
To help provide for families in need, we are accepting donated food items, paper products, and hygiene items (sanitizer, cleaning supplies, and yes, toilet paper), in addition to necessary financial contributions dedicated to sustaining our outreach operations during this crisis. Please consider making a donation of any kind to our ministry as we continue to serve the underserved in the midst of this current pandemic.
