Cross-Cultural Mission Partnerships

The Breakaway Global Missions Network is reaching youth for Christ, developing next generation youth workers, and strengthening communities through strategic cross-cultural partnerships.

Our passion is to see missional movements reaching youth for Christ multiplied across the streets, across the states, and across the seas. Our vision is to see entire communities impacted by gospel transformation and social resilience, to see indigenous leaders multiplied in championing the gospel among unreached people groups, and to help mobilize the church to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a lost and hurting world.

Breakaway is intentional about developing cross-cultural partnerships that demonstrate the Gospel and train/equip youth workers to make a difference in their local context. We work alongside of the local church and church planting movements to foster viable youth outreach solutions and sustainable disciple-making movements.

“I’m one of the youth leaders in my region. The Lord allowed me to be in contact with pastor Jimmy [Breakaway Outreach] and by the grace of God, last year in November, the pastor invited me to Ghana, Accra, to be part of the team to really learn through the ministry of sport. It is my first time to see that putting youth together to play sport, we can share the gospel with them. I [also] noticed through the sport, we can be in contact with Muslim youth and share the gospel with them.”
—James (Pastor, West Africa)

We have international mission trips available for churches, families, schools, athletic teams, coaches, or individuals who desire to serve and demonstrate the Gospel through healthy and growing cross-cultural partnerships.

Cross-Cultural Sports Camps

SPORT IS A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE. Our “turnkey” sports camp model (also available as a hybrid model alongside English camps or VBS programs) is a powerful outreach vehicle in reaching youth and children with fresh expressions of the gospel in just about any context, from under-resourced and underdeveloped communities to first world post-Christian societies.

This “Sports Camp in a Box” has proven to be an impetus for effective evangelism and long-term disciple-making movements. Sports camps have been a catalyst for youth engagement, community development, church planting initiatives, and the rise of ministries for at-risk kids and under-served children.

“We partnered with Breakaway Outreach for a three-week English sports camp in Korea. A great collaboration was formed between foreigners and locals, becoming one in Jesus. This had a profound impact upon the young people hearing the gospel and learning about Jesus at the camp.”
—Stephen (Pastor, Korea)

We believe that God’s heart is for every people, every tribe, and every nation, and that beautifully redemptive movements take shape through cross-cultural missional partnerships.

Some of the global initiatives across our network have included:

☑️ Sport camps (baseball, basketball, flag football, ultimate frisbee + more)
☑️ International English camps
☑️ Cross-cultural Vacation Bible Schools
☑️ Special needs ministries (orphans, refugees, prisoners’ kids, juvenile justice)
☑️ Resource development for at-risk youth and vulnerable children
☑️ Coaching network and outreach training for indigenous leaders
☑️ Turnkey missions solutions for sending and host churches
☑️ Cultural exchange programs for students
☑️ Mobilizing and hosting domestic/international mission teams
☑️ Community development and mission team construction projects
☑️ Outreach solutions for church planting movements

“Breakaway camps are never ‘isolated’ hit-and-run experiences for young people, but always catalysts for long-term mentoring and youth development initiatives. When it comes to evangelism and discipleship, we don’t see two ‘mutually exclusive’ gospel economies; we think and aim for both sides of the same missional coin. Both Good News ‘beginnings’ and Next Step spiritual growth ‘pathways’ are always built concurrently into the very structure and framework of our cross-cultural partnerships.”
—Jimmy Larche (Global Director, Breakaway Outreach)

Baseball Ministry + Baseball Mission Trips

Breakaway Outreach mobilizes mission teams to facilitate baseball ministry and other sports ministries in Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, and domestically in the US. These sports ministry mission trips are ideal for baseball teams, church groups, or individual coaches/players. We have added the urban discipline of Baseball5 to our global sports camps, including mission contexts serving refugees and migrant kids. Contact us for more info about upcoming trips or inquiries about missions partnership development.

“The sports camp outreach model in partnership with our American friends has been one of the greatest evangelistic tools our church has employed.”
—Hans (Pastor, Germany)
