South Korea: Sports Ministry, English Camps, Youth and Children’s Ministries
Join us as we partner with communities in South Korea for developing sports ministries, running Gospel-centered English camps, working with underserved and at-risk youth, supporting missionaries, and strengthening the local church.
The Spiritual Need in South Korea
South Korea is influential and economically strong, but secularization in young people is rampant. About half of the Korean population identifies themselves as “non-religious” or atheist, while only about 16% are living out a personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. There are common social issues that young people face, including hopelessness, loneliness, anxiety, and depression. South Korea has the fourth highest suicide rate in the world and the highest among OECD countries.
PRAY for South Korea
- For English camps and sports ministries to engage young people with the Gospel
- For outreach development among justice-impacted youth, migrant/refugee communities, international students, and North Korean defectors
- For missionaries, Christian students and expats to use their varied talents and skills to demonstrate the Gospel via life-giving relationships
- For native youth workers to be trained, equipped, and mobilized
- For churches and church planting movements to be sending forces for evangelism, discipleship, and missions throughout Asia
- For Breakaway US mission teams to serve Jesus effectively in Korea
